New railings were installed.

Statewide RM provided complete construction services for the removal and replacement of 1,850 linear feet of railings on a 10-story, 40-unit building that was constructed in the 1970s.

  • Aluminum Sterling Dula railings fabricated by Kane Innovations were installed.
  • The main challenge was to avoid damaging tendons in the pre-cast concrete slab, while drilling holes to anchor the railings and removing existing metal sleeves from previously installed railings. This was overcome by scanning concrete slab prior to the start of the project.
  • The Project Engineer was Edward Moll, principal of Structures North Consulting Engineers, Inc.
  • Access for the project was provided via swing staging.

This project was completed in the summer of 2019 at a cost of $400,000.

Old railings were replaced.
